C4 Farms is located in Tierra Amarilla, NM, and began as a small, direct-to-consumer grass-fed beef operation started by Tommy and Jessica Casados, and their four children. Tommy was raised on his family's cattle and hay ranch, hailing from generations of farmers and stockmen. This deep-rooted heritage of farming and ranching instilled in him a passion for sustainable agriculture and a commitment to quality.

Since 2013 we have proudly raised and distributed high-quality beef throughout northern and central New Mexico. Our ambition to grow food for our fellow humans and contribute positively to our local economy inspired us to open our on-farm USDA-inspected slaughter and processing facility in 2021. Today we produce “Zia Beef Brand,” New Mexico - Grown with Tradition approved beef cuts.

Our cattle are grazed on a diverse range of pastures, from high mountain pastures above 9,000 feet to lush irrigated meadows and hayfields, as well as the piñon-juniper and western wheat native range. This variety allows our cattle to thrive on the natural forage of our region, enhancing the quality and flavor of the beef we produce.

By forging strong relationships with other New Mexico beef producers, we’ve increased our capacity to make a significant impact on the state's beef landscape. We are committed to sustainable practices, which is why we continue to pasture-raise all of our cattle. Every cut of packaged beef comes from cattle grown by either C4 or one of several family members, neighbors, and friends who are also dedicated beef producers. Together, we ensure that our cattle are raised with care and respect, providing our community and region with the highest quality beef.

At C4 Farms we believe in the importance of supporting our local economy and promoting food sovereignty. Our processing facility not only enhances our ability to serve customers but also strengthens the local agricultural community by providing an option for custom processing for local producers.
